Prostitutes Offered Incentives For HIV Checks
According to “India sex workers rewarded for HIV checks,” a 07 July 2006 Reuters story, the Indian government, to encourage prostitutes in Karnataka to obtain HIV screening, is offering them discount shopping cards if they have regular checkups at sexual health clinic.
India is estimated to have 5.7 million HIV cases.
